Abstract:
Lehmer's polynomial, which is the minimal polynomial for the smallest known
Salem number, has appeared in various geometric contexts: in knot theory,
geometric group theory, and Coxeter theory. In this talk we will describe
some of the underlying combinatorial structures which unify these seemingly
disparate phenomena.
